Adlina Syamlan is a PhD student at KU Leuven De Nayer Campus under the supervision of Prof. Tegoeh Tjahjowidodo, Prof. Kathleen Denis and Prof. Emmanuel Vander Poorten. She obtained both her BEng and MEng in Mechanical Engineering at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS Surabaya). She developed an AI based character recognition system for a planar writing robot during her bachelor years, and took part in a research of the development of Cable Drive Parallel Robot (CDPR) for search and rescue operation during her master. Currently, she is developing a Virtual Reality (VR) haptic surgical simulator for pedicle screw placement. Her research interests are dynamic modelling and control, machine learning and imaging.
