Prof. Dr. med. Reto Sutter is the Chief of Radiology at Balgrist University Hospital and professor for musculoskeletal radiology at the University of Zurich. Prof. Sutter trained in radiology and pathology in Zurich, Winterthur and London/UK. After a musculoskeletal fellowship in 2010, he was hired as a staff radiologist at Balgrist University Hospital. He received his habilitation at the University of Zurich in 2014 and completed a CAS in healthcare management at the University of St. Gallen in 2018. At Balgrist, Prof. Sutter leads a team of 75 people, performing over 82'000 radiological examinations per year, with a unique focus on the musculoskeletal system. His department runs 5 MRI scanners, 2 CT scanners, 7 radiographic units as well as other imaging equipment. Prof. Sutter acts as medical lead at the Swiss Center for Musculoskeletal Imaging (SCMI) at Balgrist Campus. His research interests include imaging of the joints, sports imaging, postoperative imaging, and new imaging techniques. Prof. Sutter has published over 150 peer-reviewed articles (full list on http://bit.ly/36VOMGb), twelve book chapters, and has edited two books on sports imaging. Prof. Sutter is a leading international expert in musculoskeletal imaging and has published several seminal original publications over the last decades. He has organized several international meetings on musculoskeletal imaging and serves on the editorial board for Investigative Radiology.
