5th FAROS Integration Week at Balgrist University Hospital

We are pleased to announce that the 5th FAROS Integration Week has been successfully concluded. This milestone achievement was made possible through the collaborative efforts of researchers from KU Leuven and the Balgrist University Hospital, University of Zurich.

During the integration week, our team made significant progress in testing a new version of the robot-assisted ELD prototype, with invaluable input from Dr. Christoph Laux, Senior Consultant of Spine Surgery. Furthermore, the robot-assisted 3D-Ultrasound Reconstruction advanced considerably, bringing us closer to its application in a pre-clinical trial.

This successful integration was facilitated by the insights of Prof. Reto Sutter, Head of Radiology at Balgrist University Hospital, and the generous support with the ultrasound from Prof. Daniel Nanz, Platform Director of the Swiss Center for Musculoskeletal Imaging.

We are eager to embark on the upcoming pre-clinical trial in May and continue our work in taking the robotic ultrasound application to the next level within the FAROS project.
