FAROS presentation and demonstration at a KU Leuven Forum-Evening
Matthias Tummers held a FAROS presentation during a Forum-Evening of the mechanical department of KU Leuven.
The FAROS presentation was part of a panel of leading robotic applications. Applications included, among others, robotic catheterization, robotic eye surgery, and robotic fetal surgery. The audience included several interested surgeons.
Ayoob Davoodi set up an impressive demonstration that drew the attention of all attendees. Spines were scanned with ultrasound robotically through hybrid force position control. Besides, the overal workflow of ultrasound based pedicle screw placement was explained thanks to the robotized drilling system and the models used for FAROS experiments.
